My Role as an Educational Scientist

This internship helped me better understand my role as an educational scientist as someone who connects theory from my Master of Educational Sciences to real-life educational practice. Instead of seeing education only within classroom settings, I learned how to design learning experiences in non-formal contexts that respond to societal issues such as inclusion, awareness, and global citizenship. Applying concepts learned during my MES coursework like project planning, experiential learning, constructivism and stakeholder engagement showed me how education can encourage dialogue, reflection, and engagement rather than simply transmitting information.

On a personal level, this experience made me realize that an educational scientist is not only a planner or researcher, but also a facilitator who helps translate complex social realities into meaningful learning opportunities. It strengthened my awareness that education can contribute to broader societal change by fostering understanding, empathy, and responsible citizenship, which is a perspective I will carry into my future professional path.
